How to submit blog to Google

Submitting your blogs to Google, Yahoo and MSN

Submit your blog url here: Add your URL to Google.

A better idea is to add a Google sitemap to your blog. You can learn how to add a Google map to your blog here: "Adding Google sitemap to your blog".

You may also submit your blog to Google Base and include a link back to your blog.

You may also submit your url to Yahoo! search for free at http://submit.search.yahoo.com/free/request

For submission to MSN, go to MSN url submission.

Generally, there is no necessity in submitting your url to search engines as nowadays, eventually, the search engine will crawl your blog. There is no harm in submitting though. A faster way to do it is to get a link from websites that are already indexed by the search engines as they will automatically follow the links to crawl sites that are linked there. If you don't know anybody who can link you, you can submit your website to blog directories. An easy one to submit to will be My Blog Directory (it is already indexed). Just go to the bottom of the directory and click "Add your blog". (You may want to read more about how My Blog Directory may help you get some extra traffic to your site. Go to "How to make a blog directory for your blog". Other blog directories you can submit to are Blogwise, BlogCatalogue, Bloggernity, BlogFlux, GlobeOfBlogs. You may also "claim" your blog at Technorati.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for all the good tips.
I am just amazed that you have links to almost the same Sufi books that I've got in my astore. Yet I still can't work out how to put the HTML into my new WordPress blog (at http://ykrandall.wordpress.com) so I've just created a link.

Have you read all those marvellous Sufi books too?

Hi Yafiah,

Sufi books? Sounds like these are connected to Islam. The Amazon Astore contain only 2 books related to blogging and I will probably have to change that. The other possibility is the Amazon Omakase ads which display according to content of this blog which have nothing to do with Islam. I would be very surprised if you tell me you saw Sufi books there. If you did, please tell me because I am going to ask Amazon Associates because that is not supposed to happen. Hope you response.

Hi Peter,

This is really weird. Don't you see them? there are five books under the Amazon logo. Four of them are books about or by Sufis, one of them is a blogging book. These change every time you reload but they are always Sufi books. It felt as if my own library was following me around (good theme for a novel!). They are definitely there.

Hi Yafiah,

Then it may not be so bad after all if Amazon tracks the preferences of surfers and serve ads according to their preferences and not just the content. But it will have privacy issues. I will take this up with Amazon Associates. Or maybe God (I can't mention Him by how you address Him) is with you.

Yes, I thought this morning that Amazon must be tracking me with my preferences. Let me know what they say when you speak to them.

Not sure what you mean by your last sentence. God is God, Allah is simply the Arabic word for God and Arab Christians say Allah too. I'm happy to say 'God' when speaking English. There is only One God and may He be with you too.

Hi Yafiah,

I almost forgot about asking Amazon. I have just contacted them. Hopefully, they will give a clear answer and not try to hide information from publishers like AdSense.

Regarding how to address God, in my country, it is forbidden for a non-muslim to refer God as Allah. Surprise to hear that it is different in other places.

can you tell me how you are able to show comments on your blog at same page

here are my blogs

http://travellingspot.blogspot.com/
http://free-web-promotion.blogspot.com/

Peter Chen said...

Hi Madhusudan,

When you say comment on the same page, I think you are referring to the individual post page (Permalink). That is the default. No need to do anything. In the main page (home page or index page), there is only a link "Comments" below each post. The comments are not displayed. You will see the comments only by clicking on that link when you are in the main page. Click on the link in my signature line to see what I mean. If they are displayed, I am in trouble for my main page may become very long as in some posts, there are many comments.

Hi Peter,

I'm interested on your take that it is forbidden for a non-muslim to refer God as Allah in Malaysian culture, I think it's a misconception.

Please refer to my post here:

Politics? Religion? Anyway I was told the word "Allah" had been used to refer to God way before Islam came into the world.
