The posts in Blogger are ordered in chronological order. So if you want to change the order of the posts, you will have to change the dates and/or time of the posts. In the Create or Edit posts mode, click the "Post and Comment Options" at the bottom left-hand corner and select the relevant date and time as shown in the screenshot.If you want to reverse the chronology of the post using scripts, refer to Change order of Blogger posts
Note: Changing the date and time of the post will alter the url of the individual post page (permalink). So if you have any inbound links to that post, these links will be broken.

Argh, so you CAN change the dates! I guess I"ll have to take back all that cussing and grumbling I was doing at blogger for not having a place to input a different date/time. Never even occurred to me to click that little arrow to get to those options. Heh. Wonder why that section isn't defaulted to the expanded mode. :/ Oh well... thanks for this post!

This is a great idea in general, but if you have many changes (or insertions) among your posts, better plan ahead or any rearrangement may necessitate quite a number of changes to keep the order straight. I was going to do that, but it kept my brain so scrambled that I decided it was too much work. Not unworkable, but too much sweat.
Have large gaps (between dates) in posts. That will give plenty of room for inserting or rearranging. Or just changing the time will allow big possibilities for rearranging. Only trouble is, the url of individual post page will change. That will play havoc with search engines and existing inbound links.
I understand changing dates of the post, but I would like to know how to sort the comments on a page. I've created a post without text, and only allowed that post to be commented (like a guestbook). But the comments appear from old to new, and I would like the most current one to be on top of the page. Can you help me?
Regarding reordering of comments, I have not come across any hacks for that, and I think it may not be possible. Sorry I can't help you on this.

I've switched to the New Blogger and this method no longer seems to work. Any 'edited' post just appears at the top of the list as a new one.
Anyone else experienced this issue?
When you want your blog to retain its original date, you will have to click Post Options at the bottom of the post editor and change that to the date you want. This is from memory, so I am not 100% sure.

Thanks Peter, that is the method I am using. The issue is that the post editor seems to ignore any date change I make there. It accepts a new date and time on a post but when 'published' the time and date changes are ignored by blogger.

I did some further test, and it bears out what I expected. I have a post Individual post page URL (permalink) remains the same even after changing the title, date or time. Today, when I checked, the post was the second post in main (index) pageTesting Blogger Beta (now New Blogger). I changed the date to 11/11/06 and the post has now ended up in the archives of 2006. I don't know why it is behaving differently for you. Or maybe we are misunderstanding each other.

Why you say there is no change, are you referring to the fact that the post URL does not change? For old classic Blogger, changing the date will cause the URL to change (no good) but with the New Blogger, changing the template has no effect on the URL (good). However, its order in the blog as well as in the archives will change.
If its order in the blog and the archives does not change, something is wrong. Perhaps you are seeing a cached copy. Refer to What to do when you do not see new post. In fact, today, I just changed the dates of a few posts, and their order in the blog and the archives were changed. If it is not happening to you, something is wrong. Perhaps you have to try your very best (not easy) to contact Blogger Support.

Quick question pseudo-related to this post. I want to click a label and have the posts go in the reverse order on the label-only page (ie, from earliest to latest). Also, is there a way to set a time-delay on my posts if I want to entertain readers while I'm away?

I very much doubt you can change the chronological order of posts in the Label page, and I am not going to try.
Regarding scheduling posts for future publishing, Blogger did not provide for it but you can read about a work around at Scheduling posts to be published at future dates
The site that enable this had gone online and offline a few times, but the creator has contacted me to say they have improved the system. Unfortunately, have no time yet to test and publish new post, but in any case, found another site which can enable one to do that. Try the above and/or bookmark this blog or subscribe to its feed by email. The subscription box is in the left sidebar, towards the bottom.
